What is psychotherapy ?
Integrative psychotherapy is an embodied, relational process assisting you to explore current life challenges while considering how they might be related to long term patterns in your life.
It’s a collaborative journey between therapist and client. In a safe, confidential space, psychotherapy offers the chance to:
- Understand yourself more deeply
- Work through painful emotions and past experiences
- Develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others
- Find new meaning and direction in life
Psychotherapy isn’t about being “given answers.” It’s about discovering new possibilities, building resilience, and creating lasting change from the inside out.
There are reasons we are the way we are. Sometimes knowing a bit about these reasons can help contextualise our personal journey through life.
Some of the things which may seem like they are in the way of your ideal life might be :
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Changes in life or circumstances
- Confusion
- Relationship problems
- Spiritual and existential issues
- Boredom
- Sadness
- Frustration
- Feelings that don’t make sense
- Hopelessness
The psychotherapy I offer creates a kind, curious space for you to understand these experiences and develop the capacity to choose how you want to move through life.
Psychological speak
I practice integrative psychotherapy, meaning I consider a person through multiple theoretical lenses. This allows me to tailor an approach to you, rather than trying to fit you into a rigid system of theory and praxis.
I integrate across various models of psychotherapy, such as:
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Existential Therapy
- Humanistic and Person Centred Therapy
- Positive Psychology
This means I use trauma informed, attachment informed, and evidence based approaches.
